how to make your work uniform fashionable
Last year, I started working at a car dealership. The uniform is a polo style shirt and they are pretty cute too! After a little while though, I got a little tired of wearing a polo and slacks EVERYDAY. Don't get me wrong, I love a uniform and it's convenience. The only problem is that it can get pretty boring!
Fortunately, I have a job that allows me the freedom to style my uniform shirts however I want. Here are a couple ways to make your uniform more fashionable:
Lace! Texture turns any outfit around but lace in particular adds class. Try it with your work attire.
Play with prints, it's easy and it adds variety.
Spice it up with different footwear like boots or sandals, depending on the season.
If you work with sports fanatics and have game days, spice it up! Don't wear a boring jersey, if you can incorporate your team's color and your work colors, you're in business. The black & gold is my Saints work attire and the white is just another way to style the skirt. GEAUX SAINTS!
I know that some jobs don't allow you such liberties. But even with a strict dress code there are still some options that will help you jazz up your uniform. For instance, you can tailor a shirt to fit you better, wear a blazer, add a little jazz in your hair with accessories, and statement jewelry/belts always do the job . Even if you have to wear all one color, look for items that have a pattern but are monochromatic (e.g. the green pants in the picture with the boots).
